  It took 101 years for someone from my Great Uncles family to come and visit the place he spent so short a time fighting in this war. Having been twice buried alive in his trench and twice dug out, Pvt. William A. Loiselle died 19 years later from injuries received May 8, 1915 near this place. The screaming coming from the woods across the farmland to the South of the monument seemed surreal until I realised that hidden in the Bellewaarde Forest was an amusement park and the sounds were from the riders on one rollercoaster or another.
