::Echte maasmechelse heide.. niet te missen.. vooral als je je de moeite doet om wat hogerop te trekken voorbij de Salamander is het niet zo druk en rustig.

::I grew up in Maasmechelen so I have been coming here since I could barely walk. It is a beautyful piece of nature. There are several color coded trails. Each trail has a different distance and difficulty rate. The trails take you through a variety of scenery. Through dense forest, open planes with rolling hills covered in purple heath, there is something for everyone. There is parking available and part of the trail is accessible by wheelchair. There is also a camping site next to the entrance. They have a small bar with a terrace. Nice place to enjoy a drink after the long walk.
