  Always have to be second-checked on hand baggage even it is small with just a laptop inside. Very crowded most of the time especially in holidays. But overall still be okay. There are not much shopping options and the prices are so expensive even they said tax free I have no idea if the tax is free so whatever they have added to the price made it raising up. I prefer the new pier than the old one but the new one support European flight only.

  I love Brussels but the airport seemed a bit over crowded to me! Maybe it was just because of the timing! But I normally rate airport based on their services their providing, their friendly environment and their cleanliness! In Brussels you can have your tax refund if you are not holding Their passports! But here is the trick. They have two different offices for tax refund. One is on Third floor that opens at 7 am till 5 pm and for after hours flight they have another mini office that you can find it at 2nd floor after you come out of the elevator turn to your left, follow the hallway, keep continue straight you’ll see a white wall in-front of you! Look for a sticker sign of police officer on the wall you’ll find a red ring button! That’s the bell for them to open the door for you! and there is no sign outside this mini office only a red ring bell at the door! My flight was at 6 am and I had to checked in before I loose my flight and I had difficulty to find this after hours office! For this difficulty I take one star from my rating. But over all this airport is one of the best with lots of shops and great restaurants! You’ll be impressed!

  Brussels airport has some nice shops where you can buy a lot of stuff tax free. Love that they use automatic scans at the security, so for most of the passport types you only loose a couple of minutes. Would be nice if they could add some timings at the gates, so you know how long the walk will be on average.

  Then my family and I was going home from Manchester should we almost run from gate B to gate A. And when we should through the passport control there was only 1 man in the start and there was a long queue. not the optimal one if you got a short transferring. There was no trouble when we took to Manchester. Lots of shops to look at and good restaurant

  Great airport, flew through here in 2011 and 2013, had a 6 hour layover both times. The airport has lots of restaurants and stores to keep you busy and the couches are pretty comfortable to take a nap on. Very interesting artwork on their coke machines. :)
