  A nice cafe at the end of some rural back roads. Food was good with the added bonus of serving glorious beer! The shop does not open until 11. The shop wonderfully sells the beer brewed 100m or so away so you don't have to worry about not getting hold of a precious beer buying slot.

  Massively over hyped. Dutch rather than French style. The sandwiches come spread with marge & the cheese on top, the tostis are barely cooked & more (tasteless, pappy) bread than filling, more tomato than ham, very barely noticeable cheese. The mustard knocks yr socks off. The pate looked good. The Abbey cheese tastes of nothing. They'd run out of cake. It's very busy with lacklustre service (at best). I think it's a rip off. The blond beer tasted like any other.

  Really good place to eat some afternoon or morning snacks and drink one of the the best beers in the world! Also, the ice cream made from the beer itself is incredible!

  It's widely known to be the best beer in the world they serve here. and though that's up for discussion, what is not is that they have the best honest lunch food in the world, croques and sandwiches to die for. Also, any way you look at it, any beer enthousiast worth his word will enjoy the beer. The toilets are clean, the service is friendly, and quick as all hell. We ordered our second beer when our first ones were almost finished to offset serving time, and now there's 4 beers at this table making us look a little greedy. Must see if you're in the neighbourhood or even further.

  Came here as a beer pilgrim, I think it’s worth it. The beer has so much hype that it is hard to judge objectively, but it was a great beer unlike anything offered from the other Trappist brewers. The service at the cafe is a little slow (even by EU standards), but friendly and helpful. We were able to pick up some 6 packs (€22.50) in the souvenir shop. At midday on a Monday, it was about 70% retirees and 30% beer pilgrims. The 12 is strong and after a couple over w hours I was feeling pretty toasty. Worth the trip for any beer lover, and even for interested tourists who want to try a very unique and exclusive beer. The case and abbey are located in the beautiful countryside of Belgium, surrounded by farmland.
